Printer Says Offline but It Is Connected: What to Do
An “offline” printer is often a network, queue, driver or address problem rather than a broken printer.
Confirm the printer is on the same network
Printers can reconnect to a guest network or an old Wi-Fi name after router changes.
Clear stuck print jobs
One corrupt job can hold the entire print queue. Cancel old jobs before reinstalling anything.
Restart the printer and computer
This refreshes discovery, the print spooler and network sessions.
Check the printer address
Network printers sometimes receive a new IP address. A computer may still be trying to send jobs to the old one.
Avoid reinstalling everything first
Reinstalling software before checking connectivity can create duplicate printer entries without fixing the cause.
